Sun-Drunk

Hellooo lovaaaa.

So, I know it's been a lifetime since my last post but school started, homework built up, journalism avalanched, weekends were spent going out, and I basically had no time to update this. Buuut...lo and behold! At 8:31am on a Sunday morning, I am finally writing another entry! Yaaaaay...

First off, since the last time I've written I've decided that I truly LOVE<3 San Francisco. Most people assume that San Francisco is all sunshine because it's in California, but in reality it's usually shrouded in fog all year round. The past three weeks, however, have been amaaaazing. It's as if God, Moses, Allah, and Zeus all converged their powers and opened up the skies just for our city! There are always a few weeks in September when the city gets warm and I never fail in taking advantage of them, but I don't think it's ever been as beautiful and amazing as this year's few banana-belt-weeks.

For a city that's surrounded by water, the beaches here are oddly neglected and unappreciated...it's not really our fault, it's just that no one wants to go to the beach having to wear a parka. So whenever it gets hot, I almost always run over to the beach. I LOVE BEACHES! You have no idea. If I could live my life a certain way, I would choose to be sun-drunk 24/7.

In these pictures, I'm at Fort Funston. It's technically a dog park but if you hike down these sand trails and swim through a couple sea cliffs, there's a really secluded strip that's perrrrfect for laying in the sun. You're basically surrounded by these sandy cliffs that are soo much fun to climb on and the ocean. I had no cell phone reception, so I felt like I was on some deserted island. It was greeeeat!

I know that global warming is probably causing this heat and it's definitely not a pleasant thought, but I can't help but wish it were always like this...even if it's at the expense of the environment. Now I live in San Francisco, and it's all about eco-friendly so what I'm saying is pretty blasphemous, but wouldn't it be great if we could just ignore the fact that this is Mother Nature's cosmic punishment? Like the Unicorns said...

Again last night I had that strange dream
Where everything was exactly how it seemed
Where concerns about the world getting warmer
The people thought they were just being rewarded
For treating others as they'd like to be treated
For obeying stop signs and curing diseases
For mailing letters with the address of the sender
Now we can swim any day in November
Don't wake me I plan on sleeping in...
